This 12 year old is on his way to Carnegie Hall

 Luke Acerra is a  12 year old from Galesburg, Illinois, and has been studying counterpoint with Daniel Godsil, an instructor of applied music at Knox College, for two years. Luke has also studied theory and improvisation and has attended all of the last three of MIC’s Chicago Improvisation Institutes. This summer Luke will have the privilege of serving as a student assistant instructor at the 2010 Improvisation Institute. ( He is 12!)

Luke has studied cello since he was 3 ½  and organ  since he was 7. and is currently the organist at Saint Patrick’s Church in Galesburg.  He is a big fan of silent and early sound horror movies, especially the films of F. W. Murnau and Carl Theodore Drye.

 I know Luke and his wonderful brother Alec  and had dinner with them when I was working with their Mom, Heather who has been my friend and client for over 10 years when she was at Knox College and now at RLI Insurance in Peoria, Illinois.
