The last two weeks have been an amazing journey for me as I traveled through Israel, Jordan and Egypt.
It would take me another book to write all of the wonderful experiences, sights, people and education that I got from this magical trip.
In summarizing my thoughts, I realized that each country had such beauty, character and energy that seems to continually flow non stop.
Israel truly is the land of milk and honey-I fell in love with Jerusalem and all that it has to offer!I also experienced different religious experiences from that of being Jewish and going to the Holocaust museum and having my heart torn apart to going to Bethlehem and seeing the emotion and movement that some of my friends were experiencing and I did also.
Petra in Jordan just became one of the 7 Wonders and I urge you to Google it and see for yourself this incredible city that you can only enter by foot or horse…. (unlike my sister who owns two horses, I walked!) It takes over two hours to walk the city and each crevice tells a different story of life.
Egypt truly mesmerized me. After seeing the tombs, pyramids and true civilizations that were built thousands of years ago–and how they lived and created empires–with nothing, I stood in total awe. As one of my new friends said to me, "there are geniuses in every generation. He is so right and clearly these people were.
It is the start of a new year and I remember feeling "crazed" before I left when my new blackberry crashed….of course it was fixed and with me 24/7 as I traveled and was working fine as many people know!
I stopped several times through this trip and realized–when all of this was built in history–a blackberry or cell phone were not even on the radar—for that matter–nothing was!
I realize how so often we take so much for granted because we have so much today at our fingertips to make our lives easier and more fluid.
I have taken a page out of the book of what I experienced to start this year off by really being so thankful for what I have and the opportunities and most important for the health and ability to live the best life possible.
Happy and most important Healthy new year!
