Last week I had the wonderful opportunity of being the closing speaker at the New Jersey meeting of the Association of Fund-raising Professionals.It was wonderful to be with so many different organizations where a major goal is of course continually to raise funds. This project after also being a speaker with the national association of fund raisers around the country this past March in Dallas made me realize again how many different places we can give our time and money to support and help grow and make a difference.
Then, just the other evening I was attending a party at the LOTOS club in New York where I am a new member and was talking with Gerald Schiller who is a long time member of the club. When I asked him what he does, he told me about his non-profit which is the National Executive Service Corps.The mission of this organization is to help fellow non profits solve their managerial and operational challenges and operate more efficiently and help them grow. Their tag line is "Profit From Our Experience".
What fascinated me most in my discussion with Gerald is when he said, ‘It is about giving back and getting psychic income.’
How true and in whatever way you take the time to give with your time, money or connections, one of the true ways to make a difference and to feel great every day is to give back and give to one of the many non profit organizations we have to choose from universally.
Think about it today and keep building on your own ‘psychic income.’
