Keep Contacts On Your Radar Screen
At work . . . at the health club and wherever you go . . at a store . . . on a trip . . . in your community––keep people on your radar. I only remember some of these things because I refer back to my "Information Bank" of knowledge that I learn about everyone. I will buy clients and friends gifts when I see something they would like . It also is a time saver so I don't have to hunt when I need a special gift. One of my friends loves and collects owls.Knowing this, I’ve been able to find the most unusual “owl gifts” for her. I seem to find things everywhere. Think about your own clients and friends. It is like “red cars.” You may never see them or “notice them,” until you decide to buy one and then they seem to be EVERYWHERE!!
Do It NOW––Everyday Instead of Only Waiting for Holidays
Every day is a holiday when you remember someone. When I was in a Los Angeles hotel gift shop, I found a book of New York poems for my friend Bill,(I know, NY poems in LA?), as well as two leather notebooks for friends, one who is writing his life stories and one who loves to keep a journal. I also found an unusual candle for another client who uses them to decorate her office. Alert yourself and think as you find something along your daily path: Who might like and enjoy this? Everyday can be a holiday.
