Hi! This is Al Martella – thank you to Andrea for allowing me to share some thoughts about networking this week.
How do you feel when you meet an old acquaintance? If you are like me, you feel great because you have an opportunity to catch up with what’s happening in that person’s life. How about approaching past networking contacts with that same enthusiasm?
If you followed Andrea’s advice, you have probably built your network among people in some of the following groups:
- Customers, clients
- Suppliers, vendors
- Co-workers and colleagues
- People in your profession and industry
- People you went to school with or met at a seminar or workshop
- Like-minded people
- Neighbors, friends or family
- People you meet “in everyday life”
May I suggest that you take ten minutes daily for twenty-one days to “rebooting relationships?” How?
Everyday pick a few names from the groups above and reach out to them through their “preferred method of communications” that is, phone, email, text, etc. Keep it simple – just say “I was thinking of you and am interested in hearing about what’s happening in your life (or business.)”
At the end of the twenty-one days evaluate your results. You never know where this may lead!
What do you think? Andrea and I would love to hear from you and your thoughts and suggestions.
