This week we will sit down with friends and family to celebrate Thanksgiving. As you gather around, think of all the wonderful times you have spent together and count your blessings as you are able to enjoy the gift of love and companionship. It is a perfect time to share thoughts, plans and dreams. It is also a time of great reflection. I used to spend many wonderful Thanksgiving weekends with my terrific parents, always learning something new from them and enjoying each other. It has been over 16 years since my Father passed and almost 11 years since my Mom has gone to heaven and I miss them daily. I’m lucky though that I have my sister, Meredith here in Sarasota and we will be thinking of our brother and his family out in Phoenix. I will also be thinking of my many dear friends around the world and of course in New York and all the new friends I have made in Florida.
The tradition of Thanksgiving and the dinner we create teaches us to appreciate the finer things in life. In allowing the tradition to continue, invest positive energy into the day, however you spend it and make it a joyous day. Prepare a toast and be an inspiration to everyone you celebrate with. My wish is that this is your best Thanksgiving so far in your life.
