Networking Nugget #200 “Networking Tips For Your Next Conference”

  • Smile. It’s the universal greeting.
  • Have fun working. Be patient and inject humor.
  • Keep it simple. Simplify your process of creating connections.
  • Show character. It takes forever to build relationships, and they can be  ruined by one improper action or word.
  • Be kind and nice to everyone you meet.
  • Always demonstrate  the best customer service.
  • Do what you promised to do after the show– Follow up.
  • Be economical. Watch your expenses on the road; most things cost more than at home.
  • Be patient. Everyone may not respond positively to you the first time; give  people time.
  • Be original and unique. Find out what parts of your personality people   respond to positively.

These suggestions work and they are not always easy to implement and put into action. Like you, I attend a lot of meetings and events and I review this list every time and my goal is to work on each one of these.
