How A Salad Created a Great Connection

Photo
Having dinner tonight with my very dear friends, Marcia and Jerry Rosenberg and their wonderful daughter, Mara, who now lives in Chicago– I took them to one of my favorite restaurants–Fig& Olive in midtown.

Here we are sitting with our new friends, Luba and Donna and our wonderful server Tayaa.

At first as we were enjoying our dinner, we had asked to have something split and at first there was a small misunderstanding…. which soon was resolved.

In the meantime, we struck up a conversation with Donna and Luba at the next table and since we are all in the service business–we had much to discuss and before long we were all exchanging cards and numbers.

We talked the whole evening, shared some of the wonderful and delicious food that Tayaa served us and also talked with Thomas, the evening manager who was also very kind and helpful.

Now– we will certainly all stay in touch– and is this 'networking'— absolutely— we all had a great evening, we will definitely stay connected and all because of a miscommunication at first turned into a wonderful and terrific experience!
