EXPERIENCES, ACCESS AND ARTS
HERMITAGE PLANS FIRST NYC ARTIST EXTRAVAGANZA
playwright/librettist Craig LucasThe Hermitage Artist Retreat offers a unique artist experience November 6-10, 2013, which spans three days and four nights in New York City. Planned around performances by their renowned fellows, the trip includes an opera performed at the Met written at the Hermitage, visits to Hermitage award-winning visual artist studios and an evening that includes newly created, original work by over 60 composers, visual artists, writers, poets and playwrights, all of whom are Hermitage fellows. Travel arrangements are being coordinated through Admiral Travel, known for taking groups around the world on unique extraordinary trips.
“What an amazing time we have planned,” commented Bruce E. Rodgers, executive director of the Hermitage Artist Retreat. “Locally, the community has access to our artists at short public programs where they generally talk about their work and often share a sample. Now we are offering a chance to experience their completed works professionally performed on New York City stages and seen in working studios. The artists will spend time with us at special receptions and presentations planned specifically for our group. Anyone interested in the arts will want to join us for an itinerary that only the Hermitage can provide.”
