A Truly Wonderful Weekend With People Who Mean The World to ME!

0726081812jpgtrudy_and_bill Last weekend I had the most wonderful time visiting my Godparents, Trudy and Bill Mitchell who are two of the most special, amazing people in the world!

From my earliest recollections of childhood, Trudy and Bill were always there and dear friends of my own wonderful parents, Molly and Paul who are now residing in heaven.

Visiting them is always a true highlight for many reasons–and one is that Trudy is the ultimate perfectionist and amazing hostess. One has never experienced the feeling of being in a true German home until you have been to "Hotel Mitchell". Everything is done with class and elegance and I always feel like I’m on a true vacation with people I love. This year was very special in that Trudy and Bill moved from their home in Albion, Illinois where I grew up to their new home in Evansville, Indiana which is beautiful!

Besides our wonderful catch up and we were on the go 24/7, I had the opportunity to get to know some other terrific people that truly touch the lives of Trudy and Bill.

On Friday night, we had dinner with Bill Fortson and John Clements–two of the most charming and innovative men who own BJ’s Home Accents and what a business they have created! Visit their website at www.bjshomeaccents.com   You will want to stay there for hours looking and dreaming. They are true artists and great people!

We had dinner the following night with Ann and Joe Rhodes who are delightful, fun and the evening flew. I always tune into Ann Komis Rhodes when I visit Indiana because she is the Anchor/Reporter for WFIE TV-an NBC affiliate and is truly brilliant at her work as she reports all the news of the tri state area.Several years ago when "MillionDollar Networking" was published and I was visiting, Ann arranged an interview with one of the day time reporters and it was fun to be on the big screen!

The weekend was over in too short of a time and my memories will stay forever. I look forward to my next visit around the new year and in the meantime—thank goodness for our close contact through phone, email and the handwritten note– and by the way–Trudy has me beaten here. She writes notes continually and people always are on the lookout for that special note in the mail!!
