This morning I had the great opportunity to speak with some of our future leaders at CCNY Scholars Academy which is a summer program that provides highly motivated high school students an opportunity to enroll in challenging mathematics and science courses in a 5-week intensive program.
Before I started my program, they were figuring out the 'math problem' of the day. As I told them, I clearly would have flunked!
Wonderfully bright, open and ready to learn– we came up with several 'effective introductions' and soundbites on how to get their message across to someone they may meet as they move on to college and starting their careers.
It was fun and educational for me to work with them– all from the I-Generation and to talk about how we all communicate, network and build relationships.
A Big thanks to my friend, Deborah Scher's daughter, Isabel–who was the co-ordinator of the program and is very soon off to Rice University- where I know she will excel.
