Building Savvy Networking Skills via Blended Learning
A major reason why salespeople get off to a slow start, or even fail, is a lack of prospecting success. Even though they might put in a lot of effort, these folks receive little payback for their time and energy, simply because they’re not using the right prospecting technique — the one that will generate the greatest number of qualified prospects in return for their investment of time and effort.
In today’s economic environment, one of the most important prospecting techniques is networking. When a salesperson knows how to use it in a planned, purposeful way, it becomes an even more powerful skill: savvy networking.
Through a unique blended learning program, I can now train my savvy networking skills to a greater number of people than I could in the past. An added value is that this training can now be delivered more economically than in a traditional workshop setting, in terms of time away from work and the dollars associated with travel and other costs.
All this is accomplished using our highly interactive blended learning experience. This blended-learning VILT (virtual instructor-led training) course focuses on the networking mindset and networking skills. It features on-line self-study content and videos in which I share my personal insights, coupled with regular instructor-led toll-free meetings that promote engagement, information-sharing, and the kind of “1-on-1” accountability required that ensures that you can put what you learn to use in real life, on the job.
Using the supervised “DIY” activities built into this training, you’ll not only learn what successful networkers do, but how to do what they do. These hands-on activities will help transform you into a very effective and successful networker.
When we asked a group of participants “How was this training approach different from others in which you have participated?” here are just a few of the most common responses: (1) “It forced you to internalize the material and make it your own.” (2) “…made you actively participate with accountability.” (3) “It was extremely interactive. Each participant had a part to play and all were given equal time and positive reinforcement.
