The Top 10 Cs of a Strong Personal Brand

  1. Correct A strong personal brand is accurate. Authentic. So be true to yourself and your brand will shine.
  2. Concise. A strong personal brand can be described in one or two sentences. Distill your brand qualities into a brief statement that describes your unique promise of value.
  3. Clear. A strong personal brand is about what it is and what it is not. Make two lists describing what's on and off brand for you.
  4. Consistent. A strong personal brand is always the same. It is your promise of value to your customers, clients, managers, peers, etc.
  5. Constant. A strong personal brand is always there. Visible and available. It doesn’t go into hiding.
  6. Compelling. A strong personal brand is appropriate and interesting to your target audience. It is relevant.
  7. Current. A strong personal brand is based on today with room to evolve for tomorrow. Be fresh and consistently updating.
  8. Clever. A strong personal brand is highly differentiated and unique. It creates interest among your target market and separates you from others with similar skills and abilities.
  9. Connected. A strong personal brand is part of the appropriate communities. This means having a network of partners, colleagues and customers.
  10. Committed. A strong personal brand is in it for the long haul.
