My friend Bruce Dorskind just emailed me this wonderful quote from an interview in the Wall Street Journal with Diane Von Furstenberg–all about character and integrity and I wanted to share it with you.
All I can add is the quote I have in my office:
"With integrity nothing else matters; without integrity nothing else matters"
A man once told me, and his grandmother told him, “You can lose everything in life, you can lose your health, your wealth, you can lose your partner, your child, you can lose your job. What you never lose is your character.” Life is all about the relationship you have with yourself. If I did one thing right in my life, it’s that very early on I became my best friend.
That quote moved and inspired me. Inspired in a way to look at when sometimes things do not seem to be working in the flow. The first place to look is where am I out of integrity.
