8 PRACTICES OF EFFECTIVE NETWORKERS

These stand out in my mind as the top ones.

Start the new year by taking one practice a day- with a bonus on Number 8 which can  always be done daily.

Keep adding, building and sharing- that is what Networking really is.

1. Evaluate your Networks

Always assess and measure your networks for strength. Do you have

contacts to fulfill all your needs? Is your network strong, deep and broad? Are you

building lasting and trusting relationships that are mutually beneficial?

Do you give and nurture to those in your universal networks?

2. Develop a Game Plan

Build a game plan to help close any gaps. Where do you need to reach out? What niche do you want to develop in 2017? How will you start the process and measure it?

3.Work to Establish RELATIONSHIPS

Ask questions that allow you to turn contacts into relationships over time and monitor your journey and results. It's ALL about Relationships. Be sure to nurture those relationships -they are worth their weight in gold.

 4.Provide MUTUAL SUPPORT

Listen attentively for ways you can assist people in your networks;

Always listen for how you can help them in their work or on how they can network more effectively. Always ask, "How can I be a potential resource for this person and What can I do to help them"?

5. Focus on DIVERSITY

Strive to step out of your comfort zone and develop networks that are diverse.

Make a concerted effort to reach out to people who have different experiences and backgrounds to grow. I have the word Curiosity taped to my computer screen. I'm always curious about other people and I have things I never would have imagined.

6.Keep Growing

Always be growing and building. Refer the names of your contacts to others with whom they may benefit from a networking relationship. Implement a system where you make 2-3 Strategic introductions a month to help people in your networks. When they grow, you also grow.

7.FOLLOW-UP

I can't say this enough.

Be determined and unyielding in doing the “ little” things to follow up with those in your networks.Keep delighting and surprising them.

8.Express GRATITUDE

Sincerely and frequently express gratitude for all things people in your networks have done for you. Find creative ways to always show your thanks.
